Support Your Local Conservative Association!
The Guelph Conservative Association plays a crucial role in the campaign of a conservative candidate to represent Guelph in federal elections. We raise money and maintain a fund to assist the candidate’s campaign during elections and to support local Association activities. We receive and locally use 100% of the funds that you donate directly to the Association while we only receive a small portion of the funds sent directly to party headquarters.
Contributions to your GCA receive one of the very best Income Tax credits available. In 2024 every individual may contribute up to a maximum of $1,725.
Your tax credit is calculated as follows:
- 75% credit on the first $400 of contributions(maximum $300 tax credit),
- 50% credit on the next $350 of contributions (maximum $475 tax credit onupto $750 of contributions)
- 33 1/3% credit on the next $750 of contributions (maximum $650 tax credit on up to $1,725 of contributions)
The tax credit calculated is applied against Federal taxes owing. Any refund payable should be processed within a short time after you file your tax return.
NOTE: As of January 1, 2024, the maximum allowable contribution to a registered Canadian political party or Federal Electoral District Association increased to $1,725 annually. Accordingly, we will now accept donations up to this amount through our website. The maximum possible tax credit remains $650.00. Only individuals who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents can make contributions.
