Who We Are

All political parties have Electoral District Associations (EDAs) in each riding. The Guelph Conservative Association (GCA) is the local EDA for the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) for the Riding of Guelph which currently covers the geographical area of the whole city (see map). After April 22, 2024, the boundaries may change and Guelph south of Arkell Road and the Kortright Hills area may become part of the Riding of Wellington-Halton Hills.

Our Role in Guelph

The GCA contributes to democracy in Guelph. We are active both during and between elections, providing information and communications through our website and newsletters, holding events with guest speakers such as MP Larry Brock and MP Michael Chong. We also provide networking opportunities for conservative minded Guelphites to discuss important policy issues affecting our great city and nation. During federal elections, we play a crucial role in the election of Guelph’s Federal Conservative MP candidate.

Our Mission

The GCA’s mission is to engage the constituents of Guelph in promoting the Conservative Party of Canada. Our objectives are to:

• maintain an EDA which can effectively promote the principles, objectives and policies of the Party
• provide organizational and financial support to the Party’s Candidate/Member of Parliament in our Guelph Riding
• raise money and maintain a fund to support the EDA and assist candidates
• actively identify potential supporters and recruit new members
• encourage the participation and recruitment of youth
• facilitate, support and maintain an ongoing policy discussion within the Party.

Our Campus Conservative Colleagues

The Campus Conservatives at the University of Guelph represent the provincial Progressive Conservatives which is a totally different party from the Federal Conservatives. However, many Campus Conservative members also participate in Federal Conservative activities. They have helped us immensely during federal nomination and election campaigns. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and support!!!
