July 4, 2014 – Under Canada’s Economic Action Plan, the Government continues to provide significant tax relief for Canadian families. This makes it easier for families to make choices that are right for them. And it builds a solid foundation for economic growth, more jobs and higher living standards for Canadians.

The Government has provided almost $160 billion in tax relief for Canadian families and individuals over a six-year period ending in 2013–14. In fact, since 2006, the Government has cut taxes for an average family of four by close to $3,400. As a result, Canadian families can now keep more of their hard-earned dollars.
